The Horses Visit Our Yard!

Just another afternoon in the neighborhood: getting kids off the bus and heading home only to find four horses wondering into our yard. They escaped from the stable down the road and apparently head for the yard with the best grass...that's Ken's. Rumor has it they have been here before and like to go where there is good grass. After about 20 minutes of good snacking, we were able to track someone down from the farm and bring them back home. Sawyer was able to have a quick ride before they were off!

Sawyer's Big Boy Room!

bedside lamp was my brother Todd's as a little boy and Coke crate turned little shelf

car pillow from Target

Table refurbished from Karen and PJ...love it!

Vintage NH plate

Not that Sawyer minded, but his room prior to the makeover this summer, was a hodgepodge of things. I really wanted to make it into a real little boy's room. I decided on a vintage theme with red, white and blue accents and ran with it. Found a great captain's style trundle bed (like new) on craig's list for $200 and hit up my Aunt PJ and other local antique shops to find some cool vintage items to complete the room. I think it will grow with him for many years to come!

Sawyer Heads to Nursery School!

After watching his brother go to the Hinesburg Nursery School all last year, Sawyer was more than ready to follow in his footsteps today! He had a fantastic first day at school and can't wait to go back. When asked if he made any friends at school he said, "No, I was to busy doing my homework."

Home from School!

Here comes the bus!

A perfect after school snack...popsicles at the bus stop!

Sawyer

and that's not all the kids!

It's 7:00 and all is quiet here at the house. The kids were in their beds and asleep early tonight exhausted from their first days of school! It was very exciting walking down to the bus stop to pick up Cole this afternoon...we couldn't wait to see him and hear about his day. There are lots of kids at our bus stop: Jake, Mia, Cole, Greta, Phoebe, Sam, Calvin, Tyler and Eva! Lee was thoughtful enough to bring popsicles down for all the hungry and hot kiddos getting off the bus. Cole was all smiles and quick to share a hug with Ken and I before heading to play with his friends at the bus stop and enjoying a popsicle. Didn't get too many details about his day at school, but he is eager to go again tomorrow.

Big day at the Cudney Clan's today! First day of kindergarten for Cole and the first day of nursery school for Sawyer! The morning started at 6:15 when Cole's new Lego alarm clock woke him up for his day. With a lot of enthusiasm he raced to get his clothes on, teeth brushed, breakfast in his tummy and his lunch in his backpack. He was ready in about 20 minutes...we hope the enthusiasm continues!!! It's an early bus...7:15 and he will return this afternoon at 3:05. Sawyer was also very excited to be off to school...the same nursery school that Cole just finished up with in June. He made it very clear as I brought him that, "this is my school now, not Cole's." He gave me a hug and kiss then said, "I want to be by my big self at my school. Mommy you can go." That was that. It was nice to see both kids leave my arms this morning with confidence. A little quiet here this morning, but lots to keep me busy before my boys return this afternoon. It's only 10:00 and I have already gotten two kids off to school (with the help of Ken), had breakfast out with a friend and took a walk! Can't wait for my big hugs and snuggles this afternoon and to hear all about the first day of school!

Kindergarten Eve!

Tomorrow is the day. It's 7:30 and the house is quiet...two boys in bed by 6:30 to have them all rested up for the first day of school...mission early bedtime complete! We had a nice evening with the boys: early bath, early dinner, family snuggle for bedtime stories and then off to bed. Cole was excited to open his new lego alarm clock to help him get up in the morning and ready for school. We can't believe it's here...the eve of the first day of school!

Sawyer's Third Birthday Party (in June)!

What three yearold doesn't love firetrucks? When Ken and I were at a fundraiser last fall and there was a silent auction item...Birthday Party at the South Burlington Fire Department...I just the little boy for the party! Sawyer had a handful of his little buddies and big brother join him for an up close tour of the fire trucks, firemen and the entire fire station! It was a blast as you can see from some of the smiles. Happy 3rd Birthday Sawyer!
