A Royal Party!

it's what's on the inside that really matters!

Cole's school, North Avenue Alliance Children's Center, sponsored a Saturday event called "A Royal Party". The party spilt the kids into boys...the knights and the girls...the princesses. They did all sorts of activities to make the boys into brave knights and the girls into pretty princesses. The lesson at the end...there is more to us than what people see on the outside...it's what's in the inside that really matters.

Celebrating Cole's 5th Birthday..."A Family Day"!

For Cole's 5th Birthday, we let him pick what he wanted to do...and of all the things...he picked what we call a "Family Day". It just like it sounds...we spend the day together as a family and find something fun to do together. We headed to the Upper Valley Aquatic Center for swimming and splash pad fun! The kids had a blast and so did we! We have been working on swimming this winter with Ms. Jackie and the boys have made tremendous progress. Cole is swimming by himself across the pool. It was a fun way to spend Cole's 5th Birthday!

Happy 5th Birthday Cole!

Another Reason I Love our Neighborhood!

Have I mentioned we struck gold when we found our land to build our new house on. We have the best neighbors anyone could ask for. Today, our neighbor Frank fired up his restored tractor to bring the kids around the neighborhood to put taps in the trees to gather sap and later boil to make maple syrup. What a wonderful way to spend a spring afternoon in Vermont!

Do Nothing, Say Nothing- for Seven Days!

After a little arm twisting, Ken agreed to take a 6 week parenting workshop with me called Parenting on Track...Your Family. Your Solutions! The course is designed to enhance your relationship with your children. The goal of the first week of the course was to learn what our children can do and don't do for themselves, to learn what our children can do and we don't let them and to learn how often parents interfer with nagging, reminding and lecturing. For those of you who may be wondering why my children are running around without coats on in March...this is why...Do Nothing, Say Nothing. It has been eye opening!

Super Hero Party at the YMCA!

A cold winter day and two boys with lots of energy...the perfect solution...a party for Super Hero's at the YMCA. Note on the face painting...done by mommy...they were short staffed so I thought I would give it a try!
